2090
« on: July 20, 2013, 02:29:37 PM »
I just got the 2090.  I know it's not the best but, I'm not a pro.  I also got the Weatherbridge.  The 2090 is working fine.  The Weatherbridge is recognizing my network, but Cumulus is not recognizing either.  I have NO idea how to get this to work.  The directions are terrible for a lay person like me.  I need pictures of what goes where.  Not sure what to do.  Any suggestions?

I believe you way be out of luck for using Cumulus with that Weatherbridge setup.  I believe it should work with USB connection.  From the Sandaysoft (Cumulus) forum http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10269&p=84078&hilit=Weatherbridge#p84078

Exactly what are you trying to do?

The whole purpose of the bridge is so that you can upload to the internet without a computer running.

I have never tried to access the bridge thru cumulus.  Not sure that you can I will give it a try.

I can't do it and as Steve says it does not work I believe him.

Have you set the bridge up to send data to any internet site?     If not go to Weather Underground and register for an account.

And then go to weather network tab of the bridge and enter the data   see if it will report to WU.

I'm trying to get both working.  I want the Weatherbridge to post to WeatherUnderground, and I want Cumulus to report to the computer.  The Ambient web site says just plug in and in minutes it starts recording.  I haven't gotten anything yet.  I will try some more combinations.  Thanks for the input.

Did you read the post from the cumulus web site?  Steve the guy who wrote cumulus says it won't work. I can't make it work.

I do not find anything on the ambient site that says you can run the bridge and cumulus at the same time.

It does say this which implies to me that the bridge will not work with other software.

Notes and Caveats:
•Attention Virtual Weather Station and WeatherLink software users: Please note that the WeatherBridge does not communicate directly to WeatherLink or Virtual Weather Station software, and is designed as a standalone, internet appliance only.

You can run one or the other but not both at the same time.

Just for info I can run the bridge and cumulus at the same time by using a Davis station reporting thru Virtual VP.

I just had     cumulus, wuhu, vplive and the bridge all running at the same time using VVP.

I did.  Funny they sell it all together.  On the very same page it says all the things you can do, but not what you can't do.  I just want my station to be able to interact with my computer and WeatherUnderground, and I can't get that to work.  Frustrated.

Hook the station directly to your computer start cumulus and go thru the configuration    It is straight forward.

I don't have a fine offset station to give you a screen shot of.  Mine would just confuse you.

Not sure which Station type to choose in Cumulus when WS-2090 is not listed.  Only one that gives me battery life is WMR-928.

WeatherUnderground is now working.  Now why did I buy the WeatherBridge if it only works directly into the computer?  Why do they sell them together?  Hmmm...

They did not sell you Cumulus. They can not it is donation ware. They just gave you a free copy so you don't have to download it if you choose to use it.
Cumulus is owned by Sandysoft.

The whole purpose of the bridge is so that you do not need to have a computer running at all.   It pulls only one watt of power.

You could run the computer in the day time and the bridge at night and shut your computer down.

It looks like it has not updated to WU in the last hour - 19:10 to 20:16.  Perhaps some tinkering?

I've got the 2080 and have the problem of inside temperature not working and fixed on 117 celsius.  Does sombody know how to solve the problem?  Took already batteries out several times and still same problem, all the other things are working fine.
