Bellmere (Near Caboolture) in Queensland Australia
« on: June 29, 2008, 11:05:00 PM »
Here is my little contribution to the world of weather station websites.
http://www.bellmereweather.net

I have had a La Crosse WS-2310 weather station (git it on eBay) for 18 months and I have been collecting the data into a MS SQL server database since I set it up.  A couple of months ago my mother-in-law visited us in Australia for 6 weeks  (YES 6 WEEKS!), so I hid in the study, pretended to be working and created the website.

The receiver is connected to an HP Proliant server with automatic imports from the La Crosse software into a SQL Express database every two minutes. Two minute data is stored for one day, however five minute readings are kept for historical reporting and are manually imported to the main database every couple of days.

There is also a webcam (Logitech QuickCam looking though a pair of polarising sunglasses) pointing to the west to capture the sunsets.

Thank you for the feed back.   I have just moved from a residential plan to a business plan for my internet connection and I think DNS is a bit confused at the moment.   It should take a couple of seconds to load, but good of Australian Internet is a bit slow catching up with the rest of the world!  :?

Loading faster for me now. :-)  I do note a strange issue with the menu when using firefox. No problems however in IE.

Thanks floodcaster... The DNS problem should be resolved now.
I will install FireFox and see what the problem is and work out how to fix it.
Thanks for your feed back!    :-)

Thanks everyone!
I have had a couple of problems with the site running very very slowly, but a new ADSL modem seems to have fixed that.

Woo Hooo... The site has had a major redevelopment and I have also added a Boltek Lightning Detector!
I am currently working on a storm archive and that should be on there in a few days time.

Many thanks to everyone who has provided feed back!

I have recently updated the site with more graphs, both live and historical, and also added live streaming on the webcam.   http://www.bellmereweather.net I hope it works ok for everyone.

:-)  Nice!  My first time viewing your site.  It's clean and crisp!   :!:
I especially like the "About"..."hardware" page!
That's cool...like the images!

My brother lives in Australia, in Sydney...so I'm especially interested in weather there.
Nice job!  8-)
