A few weeks ago, I purchased the heater element (directly from Ambient Weather) for the ultrasonic anemometer for my WS2000 and set it up. It didn't come with any kind of documentation, so I was confused about how exactly it should be set up; should the power adapter module be located outdoors or indoors?
On Ambient's website for the product, it said there is a thermostat that switches the heater element on and off when it gets to a certain temperature. Is the thermostat located in the sensor itself or the power adapter? I do see that the latter is rated to be used outdoors, but I'm not sure what would be the best way to have it outdoors (if that is required).
I do have outdoor outlets, but I'm skeptical about using them because I'm not sure if they're weatherproof - my inclination is that they're not, so for now, my heater element power adapter is (possibly incorrectly) set up so that it is inside my house.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

The heater element of the WS80 6-in-1 combo sensor (Ambient sells this unit as WS-5000-Ultrasonic - see https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=40730.0) is located inside the sensor array. Therefore the power supply piece doesn't need to be outdoors. In fact fact you didn't buy the heater element I guess, but only the power supply for the already inbuilt heater element. 8-)
The description should be in the sensor array manual.
So you can keep the power supply indoors or outdoors, as convenient for you.
Mine e.g. is placed inside a water proof box and connected to an outdoor outlet.
