Title: feature request: control the backlight via TCP/IP
Post by: olicat on November 05, 2021, 09:25:27 AM
Hi!

Today I sent a suggestion to Ecowitt to make the backlight of the consoles (e.g. HP2551C) switchable via TCP/IP.
I am familiar with the option of automatic switch-off backlight based on a schedule or automatic brightness depending on the ambient light.
In fact, I have the backlight switched on every day at 6:30 am and switched off at 10:00 pm.
But in this way, the backlight could be controlled by motion detectors or it could be completely switched off when on vacation.
This means that the console could also be integrated into a smarthome in this direction.

What do you think about this idea?
Am I just nerdy or do you think that makes sense for you too?

Regards, Oliver

Strange, my wife apparently only discovered this after more than 10 years of marriage. But maybe she just kept it a secret.
