Title: Need help with Saratoga page width adjustment - Steel Series Gauges
Post by: moungerzooWX on May 17, 2021, 01:09:44 PM
Greetings!

I've recently installed the Steel Series Gauges on my Saratoga template run web site and was wondering if anyone could take a look at the files.  I'm having problem with the formatting (left to right) so the gauges all fit uniformly on the page.

HTML file:
https://moungerzoo.com/weather/gauges-ss-basic.htm

PHP file:
https://moungerzoo.com/weather/wxssgauges.php

PHP file just needs the width increased I think, but I'm having trouble finding the means to do it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I never could get them laid out the way I liked them in the template and do full page like your html version does.

With the stock templates, in the narrow view, only 2 gauges fit side by side.  In the wide view, the fitting is better.

I'm quite motivated by Woodbury, CT Weather.  They somehow got the width of the page widened to accommodate three gauges per line and the width is consistent across the other pages.

Just trying to find the primer.

I achieved some success after a good nights sleep and some coffee this morning.  I went into all of the weather-screen-(color)-narrow.css files for each color and changed the #page width to 875 vs. the default 800.  This adjustment accommodated the gauges three across.

#page {
        margin: 20px auto;
        color: black;
        background-color: #4A4A4A;
        padding: 0;
        width: 875px;
        border: 1px solid #959596;

However, the colors blue, salmon and silver will not adjust.  This leaves me only scratching my head even more.  Until I find a fix I will leave the default screen as weather-screen-taupe-narrow.css in Settings.php and disable the ability to change themes.

If anyone has any ideas about how to make the changes take affect on the blue, salmon and silver screens, I'd love to hear from you.  As for these wonderful Saratoga templates, donation will be coming shortly.

Best regards,
Scott

I was able to get the Blue, Salmon and Silver themes to adjust to 875.  I appreciate the responses!
