Greetings,
I am a new contributor to CoCoRaHS (2 weeks). I installed the wxcocorahs.php script and it only has 6 settings, easiest script to install by far.
Today I went to the page https://www.hsnpar.com/wxcocorahs.php (https://www.hsnpar.com/wxcocorahs.php) and selected a date previous from today, but within the time frame since I have been reporting. When I click the 'view map' to the right of the date it returns back to today. During the install there is a directory created called 'dp', in that directory there is a file 'calendar.js' and it is completely empty, shows file size 0.
In the main script there is a: require_once('./dp/classes/tc_calendar.php'); I am unable to determine if that is possibly what populates the 'calendar.js" file with data.
Am I on the right track here, or am I wandering in the weeds looking in the wrong place?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Ralph

I am not familiar with that script. Do you have a link for it?
Entering your AR-GL-29 in CoCoRaHS View Data and all your data shows for the last 18 days, so presume a script issue.
Enjoy,
Paul

Hey Paul,
Thanks for the reply.
Here is the link: https://saratoga-weather.org/wxtemplates/plugins.php (https://saratoga-weather.org/wxtemplates/plugins.php)
Scroll down the page a bit.

Hi,
Thanks for the link. I didn't know it was available but should have known, Ken has covered pretty well most of the bases...
But for this script, looks like only in the USA... pity!
Enjoy,
Paul

Just noticed your location... took a closer look, a tad chilly up there.. nice job on your MX site!
Getting ready to do the update too, I'm past due.

This is what I use here... last two weeks what's important for me. When nights finally stay above freezing, the ETo gauge goes active, and water balance becomes valid, ... if those chart inserts don't load, refresh the page... they've got to call the CCR page divs for three stations, and may load before CSU & Frankfort WX servers finish communicating completely with your browser...

You have to upload the ./dp/ directory, its files and the two subdirectories and their files under that.
./dp/
./dp/classes/
./dp/images/
They all have to be present for the script to work correctly.
-
Hey Ken,
They are there.. this is a snip from the server side of Filezilla
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
-
Here is what is in them.... please note the 0 file size in the calendar js which resides in the dp directory...
All of these are from the server side of Filezilla... Please excuse the size of the attachments.
dp directory contents:

classes directory contents:

Tried to edit it for clarification and only made it worse, sorry...

Like I said, the ./dp/calendar.js file is empty.. it should have code in it from the .zip distribution (16.8Kb unzipped). Extract it from the .zip, and re-upload it. It is not changed by the scripts, it just executes to provide the date selection functions.
-
Ken,
I reinstalled everything in the zip and now the calendar.js file size is 16,837. Have no idea why it was zero, followed the same install directions.
It is still not displaying previous maps. Studying the script it appears that the previous days data is retrieved from the CoCoRaHS site and not from a file populated by the script, or am I not seeing something?
Thanks

Your website appears to be using Securi caching .. the headers on the access of ./dp/calendar.js shows
HTTP/2 200 OK
server: nginx
date: Sun, 21 Mar 2021 15:35:35 GMT
content-type: application/javascript
content-length: 0
x-sucuri-id: 11033

cache-control: max-age=315360000
x-sucuri-cache: HIT
accept-ranges: bytes
X-Firefox-Spdy: h2
so your webserver is returning the empty file from the cache. Turn off caching in your cPanel, and the file will be loaded in the browser.,

Thank you very much! Never would have found that.
-
Ken,
That took care of it.
May I ask what you entered to retrieve that information, or is that in your 'secret toolkit'? 8-)
Thanks again,
Ralph
-
No secret, just the Developer Tools in my Firefox browser. It's also in Chrome, Edge and other browsers. I view the Developer Tools console for requests, and can see the headers returned from each HTTP/HTTPS access to your site. Looking at the response headers shows the caching and the zero bytes returned for the file.
In Firefox, CTRL-SHIFT-K opens the tools.

Paul,
I noticed there are quite a few stations reporting from Ontario. If you are interested in becoming a contributor here is a link that will give you more particulars.

Hi Ralph,
Been reporting since Feb 2014, and haven't missed a day, but a few multi-days reports for when we were away for a day or two - but not since Covid-19 ;) .
Was CAN-ON-31 until Jun 2019 when we moved a few blocks and had to change station number so now CAN-ON-784 and both are listed on the CoCoRaHS site and map.
I presume you don't get the pleasure of going out in the winter sub zero temperature to measure and collect the new snow, and once-a-week total snow on the ground, and then get the SWE for uploading. Makes interesting chart http://komokaweather.com/weather/snowindex.html
I have been trying to get the local school to become contributor, but no luck so far.
Enjoy,
Paul
