NOT FINDING MY ISS
« on: November 29, 2022, 03:13:17 PM »
Can you advise?

My Console only appear to receive data for part of the day from my PRO 2 ISS. How do I test the ISS transmitter and what is the likely cause?

Thanks.

If you don't know about this there are 2 causes. If it is not getting any data after sundown then it is usually the Supercap that has failed and the lithium battery has run down. Putting a new battery in is usually not a fix. The only other thing is that the lithium battery can be dead if you have had the station longer that 3-5 years (the average life of a lithium battery).

The solar panel runs the ISS during the day while charging the Supercap. The battery is just there for backup during long periods of low sun. Search for replacing the Supercap here and you will find lots of discussion and info on how to replace it.
