WS68 Wireless Solar Powered Anemometer capacitor fail?
« on: August 08, 2022, 07:34:02 PM »
Saturday afternoon during direct sunlight this happened:
https://prnt.sc/IZ72CTUq3boq

I've replaced the battery (which tested only a little low) with known good alkaline rechargeables, however, there is no sun at the moment.  I've swapped with known good ones, and tested the pulls.  They all test at 1.50v, but in the unit, they struggle.

I'm starting to think something may have failed.

It has stopped transmitting all together now.  I will swap out batteries again tonight and wait for my purchased replacement.  This one lasted 13 months =(.  At least the rain cup had the decency to die at 12 months and ecowitt replaced.

you can still try your luck. Ecowitt often tend to be generous with warranty replacements even though not obliged to be.

I think I’m curious as to what component failed.  I’ll just take it apart and see.  They were really good with the wh4x rain cup last month, I will not bother them with this one.
