Title: Expired Certificate for FindU?
Post by: miraculon on March 27, 2023, 11:53:51 AM
I am getting errors on my embedded page (https://www.rogerscityweather.com/wxmarina.php) for CWOP data:

Chrome gives this:
Quote
Your connection is not private
Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.findu.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards). Learn more
NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID

Firefox:
Quote
Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue

Firefox detected an issue and did not continue to www.findu.com. The website is either misconfigured or your computer clock is set to the wrong time.

It’s likely the website’s certificate is expired, which prevents Firefox from connecting securely. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.

and MS Edge:
I was getting an error, but all of a sudden it started working again, only with Edge. I then rechecked FF and Chrome, cleared history on Chrome. Still NG.

The issue appears to be the certificate for www.findu.com expired on 3/16/2023.

Until they renew it, https: to their site will not work without causing the results you've seen.

I emailed the contact for the site.  He responded already stating it won't be renewed.

They could use a free LetsEncrypt cert.. no need to pay (just renew every 3 months)
