EDIT:  For now I've changed "Expires:" to "Next Update:"

I just had a visitor to my site email me and informed me of "an error" in a Wind Advisory notice. The NWS posted it today(Tuesday), Advisory: "WHEN...From 5 PM Wednesday to 11 PM PDT Friday." They assumed it was in effect now!
So there you go, funny how we spoke of this last month and how I got confirmation on the "public" getting confused about it! I understand why the NWS uses the Alert dates. But it can confuse the public" :)

I changed mine to This Notice Updated & Next Update.

.... but given the step back many claim with the tipping spoon design ....
Don't see what the issue is? Quite an improvement over the tipping buckets which were a real problem.

Back before The Weather Channel got silly and was still worth watching, she was one of the on air Mets.  Also an Air Force pilot with the Hurricane Hunters.

Seems something happened to her mind and she's gotten into a spot of trouble recently.

I don’t see it (the pricing) considering the basic station is the same design, going back to VP 1 when that came out in 1999/2000.  I’d like to replace my ISS simply because its going on 12 years old, but given the step back many claim with the tipping spoon design of the rain gauge I’d be tempted to put a Rainwise on it and forgo Davis’ altogether.  Considering the humidity sensor is shot given the longevity of them, replacing that and the temperature sensor would be nice.  So far, no supercap leakage issues.

Scaled Instruments likely sets his prices based on the price he pays Davis. So the price to us consumers  is really determined by the price Davis sells its product to Scaled Instruments—so, blame Davis not Scaled.

I am sure that this is a correct reading of the situation. Trade pricing will be at a fixed discount to Davis RRP.

Just to give you one example of price increases: In 2019, a 6410 anemometer Davis RRP was $155 (itself an increase on 2018). In 2024 that same part costs $235 RRP. That's over 50% increase in 5 years. And the anemometer is fairly typical.

Inflation (the US Consumer Price Index, or CPI) in the US from August 2019 (when Davis was acquired by AEM) to March 2024 was a total of 21.7%. Specifically, the CPI level in August 2019 was 256.6 and was 312.3 in March 2024. Davis’ pricing is clearly above that level. There is nothing wrong about this but is fairly typical when a company is acquired by a private equity firm like AEM. They are looking for ways to help pay for its price they paid for a company. Cost cutting is another tool frequently used.

Weather Website PHP/AJAX scripting / Re: MBtag rain0total-count
« Last post by hymrog on Today at 09:51:35 AM »
Had time to look at this a little further.  It looks like the rain0total-count template thinks it is actually rain being recorded when in fact it should be the count of rain days for the month.

If you set the Settings.php file to
Code: [Select]
$SITE['uomRain'] = 'mm' the correct day count is returned in the MBtags.php.

Just curious if anyone knows what file has the rain conversion.  I am think a function could be written to look for the count/mcount/ycount/acount that would give the correct information for that particular template.

My Ambient Weather WS-2902 WiFi Smart Weather Station's console i connected first time by connecting through wifi without typing password. Again i want to connect it asks password, whereas I did not enter any password. It was open. Without connecting console I am not able to make any changes like making new WIFI source. Please help me to solve this problem. I reset to factory set up using this link https://ambientweather.com/faqs/question/view/id/1596/. Still it demands password. Thanks

How old is your WH32-EP ?
Mine showed the same phenomenon - the LCD panel stopped displaying after 2+ years (it looked as if water had entered which was of course not the case), but the readings were not impacted.
Ecowitt sent me a replacement display (very easy to replace) on request along with my next order.

Interesting. My wh32ep is 2 1/2 years old. I'll reach out to Ecowitt about a new screen. Thanks
