Dip switch settings?

(1/1)

anchorageweather:
I'm assuming the illustrations on the configuration screen here are for some dip switch settings:

Can anyone explain what they are used for?

Mattk:
Yes Dip Switch settings.

In that example up to six stations can be added with unique ID's. Typically out of the box the Davis ISS defaults to ID#1 with 8 ID's available using the first 3 Dip Switches with switch 4 used for test purposes. WeatherLink Live may only allow six individual stations in total?

So, the dip switches are actually on the weather stations themselves?

johnd:
There is a physical set of DIP switches on every sensor transmitter to set the wireless channel. Each transmitter on a system obviously needs to be set to a different channel to prevent mutual interference. Then each receiver such as WLL needs to be configured so that it knows which channels are active and what type of sensor transmitter is using each active channel.

NB All types of wireless receiver can access all 8 channels.
