Hello,

I was wondering what all spotters have access to the online NWS e-Spotter area yet? :)

I guess not, since I am a spotter and didn't even know about it until you just mentioned it.  :?

I'm a weather spotter but, they don't use it around here.  They just told us to call an 800 number to make our report.

We've got access to it here in KC but I've never used it.

I've used e-spotter before. But I would much rather use the 800 number my self.

Thanks,

We've had it available here for 2 or 3 years. I like to use it because the form prompts for info that I might otherwise forget to give in a phone call.

OTOH, they want the password changed every 90 days, which, based on the infrequency of reportable conditions around here, pretty much guarantees that I'll forget whatever the last one was.

Like some of the others, I've never seen this before.  Here,  Sterling Va just has us email them routine reports like snow totals and call for more time sensitive reports.

Just an FYI - E-spotter is being phased out in its entirety.  There will be a new website that will be available to submit reports to.  As I have been told, this will be a more streamlined page that will include both a severe weather and winter weather report in one page and you fill in the pertinent info for the type of weather info you are submitting.

As with any other "important" reports, those should *ALWAYS* be submitted through your local net or by phone (if you are NOT a ham).
