Latest Sky Image for website?
« on: March 05, 2016, 09:26:18 AM »
My website, http://www.bbbrown.com , is mostly about our solar powered home.  It runs on my server using WordPress. I'd like to incorporate the latest Bloomsky image from my unit into the website. Is their a way to point a webpage to just the latest sky image from my Bloomsky station?

Or this one, you have the weather-values and the movies also. It also checks if the image is recent.

Yes, I guess there are now three possibilities depending on how simple you want it to be :-)

1. use the script I just posted - it shows just the image, nothing less, nothing more - ideal if you want to just incorporate an image into already existing website
2. your script - great for showing more info, works stand-alone
3. my plugin (requires Meteotemplate, http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=26825.msg279099#msg279099) - saves history images, allows filetering, videos and do all sorts of stuff with the images, example: http://sacrey.info/meteotemplate/plugins/bloomSky/

Just one amendment: this script as all my scripts are made to be  used stand-alone  AND in Saratoga-Template AND in Leuven-Templates.
For all three uses the surrounding scripts are included.
This script is meant to be used everywhere as it is one php-script => one html div.  "Everybody" can include it in nearly every php website.
If I had the time to install your template also, I had included the surrounding html for yours also.

I know Wim, and I stated it in my original post ;) Your works stand-alone.

My script actually also uses the MySQL in the backend to save the meta info about all the images. This means that making it stand-alone would require substantial changes in the script, probably using text files. I was about to do a stand-alone version, but before I got to it, you released yours and because it was pretty much exactly what I wanted to create I saw no point in recreating the wheel :-) Thanks for your script, it is always great when there are more alternatives where everyone can choose what best suits their needs :-)

. . . shortened . . .
Well I prefer to not call my scripts: stand-alone as that is understood as "not inside a template".
Leuven-scripts work almost everywhere, I do my utmost to realize that.
