Why a "network"...
« on: April 25, 2014, 05:34:33 PM »
The Blitzortung Network and 6 nearby lightning strikes April 25, 2014. The 'location' accuracy ranges from just over 5 km to 0.5 km. Now, the '4 km' strike 'dot' is dead on the cluster of trees the bolt grounded into. Note that all were located by network stations other than local 689, except one just under 9km SW. Stations with H field antennas are usually in 'interference' mode with strokes this near, and rely on network stations to detect and locate.

Cheers!
Mike
