Phishing attempts for Domain Name expiration
« on: May 02, 2022, 08:10:17 AM »
I have had several instances where I get emails regarding my Ham radio web site where they spoof a notification that my domain is expiring in a couple of days. There are urgent demands to renew now or my domain will be removed. They use my hosting's (hostinger) logos and it looks convincing that it was from them.

Two problems with this, I have auto-renew active, and the domain is good until next November.

I log into my account to verify each time. The other day I got two of these in the same day. The actual email addresses (when I float the cursor over the links) are obviously phony.

I don't know if anyone else is getting these fake renewal attempts, but I thought that I would mention it as a FYI and warning.
