"Low battery on station 1" message on console
« on: August 01, 2021, 09:10:00 AM »
I'm not sure if this topic has been brought up before. The low battery message is always being displayed on the console at the bottom. I put a fresh Energizer rechargeable battery in the ISS and also cycled power to the console to see if that would get rid of it. Anyone ran into this issue before?
Regards,

Sorry, but I don't usually have time to help with individual issues by email unless you are a Prodata customer. Please post your issue in the relevant forum section here & I will comment there if I have anything useful to add.

I wouldn’t use a rechargeable battery..  Use a lithium battery.

*Check the voltage of the battery. It must be at least 3V. IIRC the console will start throwing warnings at ~2.8V and below.

You may also have a bad supercap which is draining the battery immediately. Pull the new one out - if it is still at 3V or close to it, it could be a circuit board issue. Check the battery contacts for corrosion, etc. and that they are making good contact. If all else fails, contact Davis.

I had that happen a few times,  I went out and put in a fresh battery , then again, and again.  finally I ordered a new ISS board and no problems since.  They do go bad.  Check to see if the station is still under warranty and ask for a new replacement, that you will send them the present upon reciept.  Don't use rechargeable batteries.  They don't recharge in the ISS.  When they discharge, you get the message.   Put in a standard cr123A  .
