Davis VP2 Wind Speed ?
« on: January 09, 2008, 09:10:04 PM »
New to the WXForum and a new owner of a Vantage Pro2 (wireless). My question is there a way to show the wind speed in .10 (the manual has pictures of it represented in the manner but I can't get it to show when set for MPH).

GREAT Technology/Unit so far. I'm mounted the units by cementing a three foot 1.5" piece of PVC in the ground and then inserting a 12' galvinized pipe (with the mounted ISS & Anemometer). That way I can remove the pipe for any maintenance events.

Thanks In Advance.

It's not possible according to Davis. Not sure why they printed that because I'm sure they get a lot of questions at tech support about it.l

Thanks for the quick reply. Not a big deal just thought I'd ask.

I was hoping it was possible but when I found out you couldn't I was kind of bummed about it. Maybe they will release a firmware to allow users to enable it in the future. Now that would be nice.

the anenometer is not accurate enough to show windspeed to 1 decimal place though
(and neither are any other of the similar priced weather stations)

AWOS/ASOS stations don't even show wind to any decimal places, not even at tech level.
