Device setup in WeatherUnderground
« on: January 15, 2020, 05:20:48 PM »
When setting up my device, one of the questions is "height above ground"  does that refer to the weather station that I will mount about 6 feet above ground or the anemometer that will be roof mounted at 33 feet?  It doesn't specify.
Thanks for any help.  [tup]

I would think that it would be your array height.

Neither. It's the height of your device that calculates the pressure. You need your location height MSL, then add or subtract the additional height of your device to the MSL height. For instance, if your house shows at 100ft MSL and your device is on the second story 20ft above, then you'd enter 120ft.

Got it - Thank you both!

As I reread your original post and just to clarify, what WU ask for is superfluous. Besides siting guidelines for a PWS, the only altitude that matters is the height of your device for proper pressure measurement.
