new Firmware for WN19xx: V1.2.2
« on: December 01, 2022, 03:24:55 AM »
Hi!

There's a new firmware available for thew WN19xx: v1.2.2.
The changelog according Ecowitt:

Quote
Optimize LCD screen for barometric and rainfall
Wunderground protocol adds support for multi-channel data  and piezoelectric rain upload

So check the WS View or WSView Plus app to see if you are offered a new version.

Not tested yet - will do. But WU protocol change sounds good regarding e.g. Awekas.

Regards, Oliver

in 1.2.1 when you selected  "Rainfall data Priority" = piezo and a traditional but no piezo rain gauge was connected, the console would automatically display the traditional rain gauge readings
with 1.2.2 it shows ---- when a traditional rain gauge is connected, no piezo connected and priority piezo chosen

Hi!

I can confirm the improved WU support.
After the update to v1.2.2, the values of the extended sensors are transmitted in the WU protocol - i.e. also via custom server.
This concerns the temperatures and humidities of the WH31/WN30, the temperatures of the WN34 and the leaf wetness via WN35.
Thus: tempNf, humidityN, soiltempfN and leafwetness.
Users who send to WU-compatible services such as Awekas can look forward to significantly more sensor values.

As expected, there were no changes in the Ecowitt format.

Even though it is not listed in the changelog, I have the impression that the WIFI stability has improved. But that's just a feeling and may also have other reasons.

Are these data visible in the WU and Awekas dashboard? I didn't see them.

Hi!

WU still does not show (and save) all possible values - but they're accepted. Thus, the data is not even available via API query from WU.
According to written information from Awekas, the keys are supported according to the WU format description:

tempNf (where N=2..4)
humidityN (where N=2..4)
soiltempf (corresponds to the 1st channel)
soiltempNf (where N=2..4)
leafwetness (corresponds to the 1st channel)
leafwetnessN (where N=2)

Presumably, however, you still have to activate these additional sensors in the Awekas settings.

BTW:
So far, the GW2000 and GW1100 as well as the WN19xx consoles support the dispatch of the extended sensors in the WU protocol with the respective current firmware.
For EasyWeather stations (WH29xx, HP25xx, HP35xx) and the GW1000/WH2650 the firmware update (probably v1.6.5/v1.7.6) is still missing.

I just checked and they are active, I believe that it was done automatically.
I believe that they are collected but not shown in dashboard since there is no option to show it adding gauges.
Better than nothing at all, anyway.
