Lost data in Weatherlink display
« on: June 20, 2025, 04:20:23 PM »
I have lost all data display after 12th June 2020. I still have all the *.wlk files to date but can't work out how to re-load them. I may have had a power cut yesterday which possibly corrupted something on crash off of my desktop PC. Can anyone advise what to do now? Running Windows10 with Weatherlink 6.0.5. Thanks!

12th June 2020? Correct? If you have *.wlk files in a backup then first check the contents of station where the *.wlk files are stored. Typically this will be under the WeatherLink folder where Station name is created e.g ..../WeatherLink/Station_Name

If there's no WLK files then you can simply copy the backup WLK files into your Station_Name folder.

Thanks. I had tried that several times without success but suddenly they all re-appeared! No idea why. I must do some housekeeping as I have two stations showing with the same name ([myname]2) but the folder is only [myname]. I also discovered that you can have a long station name [myname]2025_06_20 but the folder get truncated to the first 8 letters and becomes [myname]20. They don't tell you this. Maybe the software goes back to the old DOS days of 8 characters.
