I wasn’t aware that you had to shut down or remove original station before trying to change stations. The only way I could get it loaded was to add a station. That worked, but they assigned it a new ID. I couldn’t figure how to correct the problem, so I tried a couple more times. That kept changing the number. I now realize you have to remove the current station and connect a new one to the old number. I don’t believe I deleted the first station so the ID number still should be there assigned to me, just not active. The other real problem is I don’t know if I remember the original number. I believe it’s KCOFORTC84, is there anyway to verify this.

Thanks for your help

Hi,
If you login, and then under My Devices it should give your devices ID and status.
You can search or enter a URL like https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KCOFORTC84
or change or add the ending digits i.e. https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KCOFORTC843 https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/KCOFORTC846
But it isn't guaranteed that WU will use a similar name when adding a new station.  Mine are IONTARIO226 and then IMIDDL32 and IMIDDLES37

Enjoy,
Paul

Will weather under ground retain that station number in my account. I don’t know if I will be able to get it from them anytime soon. I can’t find that station number any place and am not sure I’m close at KCOFORTC84. Any suggestions will be appreciated and tried.

Thanks

I believe that all your stations will be listed under My Devices for the WU account you have created.  If it is not listed there, then it doesn't exist for you.
I have 4 listed, 3 that are current, and 1 (Bloomsky) that I haven't used for years.

Enjoy,
Paul

I was able to find the original station number as KCOFORTC80, not 84. I sent a request to wunderground to see if they could get it added to my list of devices. I don’t know if it is possible to do that or this is something they will do. What is the odds it get this done?

Is that response based on the fact that they may not have the data required to perform the task that it would take to make it happen or the willingness to even try?

I have had a station on WU since 2008.  My memory may be fading, but I seem to recall some previous mention (when you could actually communicate with them and they responded and had lots of other information on their site) that a deleted station is "deleted".  I am presuming that 'deleted' is the same as removed from their site, and their 'Delete' option gives you a chance to Cancel the process or OK.

I don't know if they would still have the information, and as to willingness, again I don't know but from personal experience in asking about things that they did have available or published at one time but then stopped, I would say one or the other.

Under their Personal Weather Station Hardware and Software section the link to Cumulus is still the original Sandaysoft site which Steve Loft, the original author of Cumulus, maintained until his retirement more than 5 years ago.  This link now fails "The requested URL was not found on this server".  The URL to the current Cumulus site changed many years ago but WU has failed to make the change, nor responded to my emails on this.

Maybe my "Likely zero" should have said "Likely 0.1%".

Enjoy,
Paul

I think that response tells me to just move on and find something more valuable to do with my time. I don’t think my station being number 1003 or 80 makes any difference to any one but me.

Thanks for your time in responding to my questions. Just for fun I will let you know if WU responds to my request and I’ll let you know what they say.

Thanks again

Dennis

You could keep creating stations until you get a number you like.
ECOWITT GW1100 | WH68 | WS32 | WH40H | WH57
KNCRALEI888
