Weatherlink with WU and CWOP
« on: May 02, 2024, 11:18:02 PM »
Does anyone have a vp2 linked to WU or CWOP
I asked this question on the Davis section and have not received any response
How does one link their vp2 with 6313 console to WU and cwop.
I read where it is done through weatherlink but do not see anything that suggests an option to do so

Hi,
You will need to register for a station ID at the upload services, CWOP, WU, WOW
Then from your Weatherlink.com bulletin page, click Share and Uploads (upper right) > Upload > Add Upload or Manage Upload, and select the service(s) you want to upload to.  Enter your station ID, etc.  With a basic Weatherlink account you can select 15 minute update, and with a Pro account you can select down to 5 minute update.

Enjoy,
Paul

Due to a dead computer I had to download Weatherlink 6.0.5 and start ingesting data from my Davis system on a new computer. Now I am having trouble linking to CWOP as well. I already have my station ID. When on Weatherlink.com I click on the Bulletin tab then on the Share & Uploads. At this point there is no Uploads button/tab, only the Share tab. I am at a brick wall. ](*,)

In both my WL.com accounts, one a free basic account and one a paid Pro account, I have under the Share and Uploads tab;
Share - Upload - Embed - Summary tabs
Then under the Upload tab there is: Manage Uploads - Add Uploads
Then under Add Uploads tab there is: Select a service to upload to pulldown
Then click on the service such as CWOP, Weather Underground, WOW

Is yours different?
Is your Weatherlink 6.0.5 uploading to Weatherlink.com through its Network Settings?

Enjoy,
Paul

Your last question was the answer. After sending my comment yesterday I finally realized I needed to upload my data to Weatherlink before I could connect to CWOP. This was not required, and I don't think was even a possibility when I connected to CWOP back in about 2005. Yes, believe it or not the old version of Weatherlink had been working on its own computer for almost 20 years. Thanks!

BTW, is there a way to tell if Weatherlink is sending your data packets? The old version you could actually send packets manually and there was a red, green or white button that showed if the data packet was sent.
