Synoptic Data is a Public Benefit Corporation and Certified B Corp. Not too many companies are in that category. In my current job, and formerly when I worked at NWS and FAA, we work with Synoptic Data. As NWS will no longer support MADIS, Synoptic is taking over. They have a database of global observations that keeps growing.

I’m curious, when they replace the temperature and dew point sensors are they also replacing the radiation shields?

Yes. The temperature sensor is placed in an aspirated RM Young shield and the humidity sensor is placed in a passive RM Young shield.
