A thought... if you are on good terms with you local NWS webmaster, and are uploading stills to Wunderground for example,
you might want to send a direct link to that still (Not the Wunderground page... the still jpeg)... some of the guys like to do
quick 'lookarounds' sometimes... and prefer a 'direct still image link'... at least mine asked for it.

That is exactly what we have been doing for many years. Both NWS offices for our area use and archive our images, along with several other sites. One of the main purposes is to see what the river is doing during heavy rains and when the ice breaks up in the spring.

The NWS uses webcams a lot, that's what a main source for Snow Squall Warnings are
Usually radar indicates everything, but (highway)webcams play a huge part sometimes
