I built an exporter that sends data broadcasted from Ambient Weather stations to Prometheus, allowing me to keep my weather monitoring local. It works with any AW station and supports all optional sensors. I also provide a Grafana dashboard to visualize the data.

The usage instruction are on the github. https://github.com/Digital-Shane/awp-exporter

I've searched on this and other forums and found alot of conflicting info and various solutions that have been discontinued.

I have a VP2 cabled version, with the 6 pin RJ-11 jack under the cover labeled COMM. I do not have the console.

What would be the best way to connect this to a Raspberry Pi to run the WeeWX software ?

I'm very comfortable making custom cables if needed.

Can I supply power to this using the RJ-11 Jack ? Even the pinouts I found have varied from source to source.

My ISS Transmitter has a Prod # of 6327C.

Thanks for any guidance.

True. I have an IT background and worked for Apple for over a decade so was OK with the process but not one a novice user would be comfortable with.

It does not come installed on the Mac you need to install it whilst in Terminal. Use the command brew install dfu-util or sudo apt install dfu-util depending on which environment you are using in terminal mode. I used the first command. It goes out over the internet to download and install the dfutil software.

Thank you. I finally did it after undertaking various internet searches about installing Homebrew 'software'.

Must say, that is absolutely over the top nuts of Ecowitt to expect Joe Public to be able to update their weather station firmware on a Mac. Nuts.

I've never had any luck with updating this firmware. I have the older 2551 console (no WiFi) but all attempts to connect to it using the WS View app on my iPhone has been unproductive. I follow the prompts in the app but the buttons you need to press for the selected console don't exist on my console. I haven't noticed any anomalies with the 1.7.0 version on my console so am not too concerned.

I bent the spikes inwards, but since there's nothing stopping them from rotating in the little rubber sleeves I expect they'll get pushed out of the way pretty soon.  I'm going to have to make something a bit more durable using a large hose clamp.

I've only had my WS90 for about two months. Like you, I found the rain gauge function to be a bit hit and miss but the latest 1.5.6 firmware seems to have fixed it pretty much. I had the newer bird spikes on my WS69 which died a natural death after 6 years or so. The newer spikes kit came with two bands and some extra spikes and mounts which allowed me to add them to the WS90. The tension band is very taught and I haven't had any birds come visit yet. The spikes are the newer zig-zag type as well.

EDIT -  I also installed the 12v power adaptor on my WS90 as it is mounted high up on my house roof. Works perfectly though the low battery warning on the console is a continual annoyance. The web page for my eccowit site also lists the low voltage as a warning in the battery panel but I have renamed it so as not to be a bother...

Thank you. I estimate I use the Terminal.app once every 5 years

Its now accepted my password.

It comes back  sudo: dfu-util: command not found

The file is unzipped: WS90_V1.5.6.dfu

I use this option to update my WS90 on my Mac. Sudo commands use the password for the admin user of the Mac it's running on. So, it wants your MacOS password.

Thanks for sharing!

I especially liked the sunrise behind the Vantage Pro-2.  It kind of ties into the Sun image with a flare.  In this case the shield to protect the camera from the intense solar radiation is none other than the VP2 itself!

Anyone else?
