Title: intensity map, coming off Africa

Hi, I'm quite familiar with the Atlantic basin maps. On here, we see clouds coming off Africa: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php?basin=atlc&fdays=2

But how do I see whether that is merely just clouds as opposed to a bad storm? Would I want IR satellite imagery? Would that differentiate a bad storm from just clouds? If so, can anybody post a URL? Thanks.
