Ecowitt GW1000 and/or GW1200-B shows offline.
« on: April 20, 2025, 07:53:55 PM »
Happy Easter.
Occasionally I will get an alert from Ecowitt that my GW1000 or GW1200-B has been offline for 10 minutes. These are set to update every 5 minutes. When I check the tabular data on Ecowitt or the weather sites that ingest my data I do not see any data breaks. My internet connection is good and no problems noted when this happens. Any thoughts?

I had a similar situation recently

May not be the same, but before you do anything drastic I would try power cycling your router

Solved my problem

How do you know that your internet connection was good during the time frame your alert showed ?
How do you know that there wasn't a short-term issue with the DSLAM or fibre NT ?
How do you know that there wasn't a DNS issue with the DNS server you use in the internet or an issue with the CDN for Ecowitt ?
There are so many factors, most out of your control, which can be responsible for a connection not being possible.
I get this regularly from a remote console and I suspect the internet provider to change the local IP as it happens systematically around midnight.
