Actually, 'Wes' from WeatherUSA contacted us when we were beating this thing up, back in Feb 2017... offering us his server, etc...
see
https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=31396.msg316172#msg316172Wes would have been a prime mover in getting us off the ground, but his contact post was about just a little too late...... we'd already agreed reluctantly with Chris at crushed box software to use his wxradio.dyndns server in partnership. Chris helped us get this off the ground and up and running... then I think Chris' lifestyle took a change, and something went awry... especially when we needed to upgrade to SSL hosting for media... we don't know what happened for sure... anyway, that's when Ken fired up and donated an icecast, a domain, and a machine on his own dime, and we went to wxradio.or for streaming source.
And that's sort of why I more or less would give Wes no frown if he uses some of our streams. He may not even have scraped them all, I tend to think some of the providers may have actually signed up at WxUSA using the wxradio.org stream source... don't know that, but thought it a few times....
I think the bigger issue is Ken having to develop a 'tor' killer to block any number of 'network' scraper urls... It was horrible for awhile loading down wxradio.org icecast...
Yeah, the main site isn't optimized for Mobile... we needed a feasible player, that provided a bunch of features, I owned a script, we needed to get online, we used it, and all the supporting scripts Ken developed are keyed to support it. As well as
Doug's QRA monitoring suite of scripts, on his dime, and machine are also keyed in to the main site! Ken's standalone script seems to work pretty well on mobile, as far as I've seen.
