Topic: AT&T discontinuing email to text gateway.

Dear WXForum tinkerers,

An intrepid WeatherCat user introduced that forum to a nifty feature that was available for all 3 major cellular service providers:

In a nutshell it was possible to send an email that would be received on your phone as a text.

Unfortunately, AT&T has decided to discontinue to the service.  Here is the announcement:

A search of the web strongly suggests that the other wireless carriers will follow suit.  Here is one article with some discussion on the topic:

That discussion doesn't provide any easy alternatives.
