I noticed in the same field as the sea level entry, there is also a field for "sea-level barometer." What are we to put there? The sea-level pressure? I think that is 29.92? What purpose does that field serve? Part of pressure calculations?

With the Vue you can choose SLP, altimeter setting, or none, which is raw, don't want that. All you need is the height of your console above sea level (try to be accurate within at least 10 ft or so), enter that value into the console and select which reduction you prefer (REDUCE BAR NOAA, which is SLP, or ALT SET). The console does all the work after that, no outside comparison is needed. You can fine tune it further if desired, but I find it's spot on without it.

jcookjr82,
I'm curious and I would like to request a screenshot of the configuration you are seeing.

I believe he’s referring to the setup-settings of the Davis Vantage Vue Console itself rather than any WFL setup-setting. It’s the same on the Vantage Pro2 Console.

That was my assumption as well. However, as silly as it is, the VP2 console does not have the option of the altimeter setting like the Vue console does.

From looking at a posting in another thread, the VP2 uses the NOAA barometer reduction algorithm which is the default setting of the Vue.

That is true, certainly doesn't mean you have to use it. That's why there's a choice.
-
A choice Davis removed in the VP2 since it’s automatically applied with no other options like there are in the Vue. As to why, only Davis knows for sure.
-
It wasn't removed from the VP2, it never had it, it was added to the newer Vue. I spoke with a supervisor at Davis 5-6 years ago about adding it to the VP2 and was told "they'd consider it". Obviously we can see where that went.
-
I imagine it could have been added with a software update so who knows why they decided not to.
-
Well, that's what I was hoping for but they know boneheads like me want what I want and will spend for a Vue console, and that's just what I did...twice.

I went with two Vues, one VP2 and one envoy all being fed by a Vue ISS.
