Weather guy was showing the local radar.  Suddenly a pop up that their Norton Anti-virus had expired popped up on-screen.

Why would a professional entity like a TV station be using malware like Norton?

Not that it was Norton Anti-Virus fault.

The company I work for Parker Hannifin Corp. uses NOrton business edition and it don't look anything like what the normal man woman on the Street gets from the computer store.
