WS-2310-25 Temperature and Humidity Sensor

Happy Holidays everyone.

I need a bit if help I have the Lacrosse 2317 Weather Station and I noticed after sometime the Temp RH sensor reads the Dewpoint 3 degrees to low as compared to a nearby official NOAA weather station. I wanted to see if there is an adjustment in it like a cap or
variable resistor or else I would have to purchase a replacement I believe it's the WS-2310-25 Temperature and Humidity Sensor.
Advise as to where I can get sensor online. Lacrosse as always retires everything that works on a PC com port as well.
Ridiculous, how can they retire weather stations now that these new ones can't store data anymore on the PC except for
the phone.!?

Being 3 degrees off on the dew point at your weather station compared to a nearby NOAA station is not a major discrepancy. The stations are in two different locations, with different local situations (tree cover, grass, gravel, paving, etc.) Dew point is a calculated number based on temperature and relative humidity, and the accuracy ranges for your weather station hardware for temp and humidity, when combined, could be additive in terms of being off. An adjustment offset or replacement sensor is not advisable in my opinion.

Thank you kindly for your response. I realize the differences as a meteorologist myself. Temperature is right on and I am close 11 miles NNE of KPBI station. So in any case, I will keep tabs on this as I collect more live data to PC I have it at 1-minute intervals. The pressure was calibrated last month holding well within the other station like it should. Temp right on target. On the other hand, I need to get a spare sensor where can i get one for the Lacrosse 2317 series. Would the one I mentioned WS-2310-25 work with my weather station? Thanks!

I have no personal experience with Lacrosse units. Try asking in a new thread in a more appropriate topic section of this forum, and hopefully someone can help you.

First, let me thank the Moderator who moved this thread to the correct LaCrosse sub-forum, after I requested that by using the "Report to moderator" button in each message. We don't need duplicate threads.

As far as the Lacrosse 2317 and its various units, the 2317 website page says this unit is "Retired". So I'd say LaCrosse isn't going to help. This product looks very much like a LaCrosse system I bought in 2004, but mine died years ago.

I see that Ebay currently has a couple of "open box" 2317 offers, and if you reeeeaaaaaly want a spare that may be your best option. Here is one example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/204580652657?_skw=La+Crosse+Technology+WS-2317-CP.

My personal opinion is to accept that your existing system is obsolete, and don't invest any more money in trying to buy parts for it. Wait for it to fail, and then buy a current product. I like Ecowitt, and think they are a good value, but recognize that the Ecowitt system is all wireless, and works differently than the legacy LaCrosse system.
