Add old records to weatherlink
(1/1)
cjwhome:
I've had to re-install Weatherlink, and all my old records dating back to 2010 are no longer in the file. I have the old Weatherlink file but I don't know what to add to where. in the new file Any advice welcome.
Mattk:
Please outline the situation a little further. weatherLinkPC is more than just a "file"
Are you referring to the WeatherLinkPC software, have you re-installed WeatherLinkPC? Are you referring to the Station config or the .wlk files or ....?

Communication between the console the and PC stopped workiing, and I've been unable to get it working again. I installed Weatherlink on a different PC and it is working but only has data for the last few hours. I would like to transfer all the data from previous PC to the current one and don't know which data I need to copy from the old Weather link folder to the new one.
Thanks
Mattk:
Historical monthly archive data files end in .wlk of the format YYYY-MM.wlk and you can copy these directly from the old WeatherLink>Station-old-name>*.wlk to the new WeatherLink>Station-new-name
One thing to watch and depending on the relationship of the current month and amount of time since failed, rebuilt and logging again is how you might want to handle the current month as there is no real easy way to merge this one.
You might want to overwrite the current new monthly file with the old one then download the new station again but this will depend on the amount of time between station rebuilds etc? Or if you keep the new station monthly file and wear the loss between the last full month and current day then your decision but at least make copies first of all old and new station files before making the changes.
