Any idea when Pro will be in stock?
« on: June 19, 2021, 12:18:47 AM »
Asking cause am trying to decide between the PI and the Pro.

May go lazy route with the Pro but not sure when becomes avail.
Is there an annual license fee if go with the Pro and how much is it if yes?

Thanks

I'd recommend the MB RPI instead of the MB PRO.

MB RPI Advantages:
- way cheaper
- faster UI
- typically configured with more storage if you opt for the better SLC SD card
- 1 minute data actually makes sense with larger storage
- Built in Weather34 dashboard

MB PRO Advantages:
- Perpetual license (free software updates forever)
- little display...but I've seen this get burn in which is not nice
- Plug it in and done.

Some other tidbits:
- MB RPI can be upgraded with a Meteostick if you really want that MB PRO feature (I prefer to use a WLL even if you do get the MB PRO)
- It really isn't at all complicated to set up MB RPI as all you do is copy an image file to the SD card. Setting up a MB RPI does not require any Linux command line work, unlike the prior TP-Link hardware.

Thanks. I have wll and am trying to decide on alternate option instead of the annual fee for pro subscription to have access to my data.  Does MB also save air link data for my access?
On prime day maybe will be a PI deal

I got the Meteobridge Pro before the RasPi version was available. After using it for the past year, I would buy it again. Price was not a factor.

Another plus I can add from my WLL experience this past year was invaluable. I'm on a rural electric coop and the power goes out frequently. The Davis WeatherLink Live device stores data when my power and my router is down. When the power comes back on, the WLL fills in any lost data to the weatherlink.com database! My data charts are perfect and complete since I set up my system last August.

I have no problem with the $49 per year subscription to WLL Pro. I just put it on autopay and forget about it. Heck, that's less than I paid for parking and tipping the waitress when we went out for dinner on Saturday.

Yeah the WLL logger feature is nice. worked well when the AWS data center downtime affected uploads earlier this year.
But raises a question. Will the WLL data be available to the MB PI when the power comes back on line.
If the data is avail on the WLL historical data, would be nice if would be available to the MB.

at $50 a year, in few years the savings can buy additional sensors/ gear vs access to data.
