Web Site Host - HELP need low cost provider
« on: October 10, 2019, 03:54:26 PM »
Folks
My GoDaddy website hosting is about due for renewal. I just spoke with GoDaddy regarding the costs and was shocked at the price increase.
My five year subscription which is about to run out cost me $319.00 now they are quoting me $787.00! I tried to negotiate a better price but the customer rep. wouldn't budge. I think this is crazy.
I do not have a SSL Certificate just basic hosting with Linux cPanel along with private registration and certificate.

So I am looking for recommendations for a low cost reliable web host. The clock is running.  :-(

Your suggestions are appreciated.

I have used ICDSoft for the last 8 years. Has been down 1 time in that timeframe.  Excellent customer service.

Jasiu:
Thanks for the link, very interesting. I am seriously looking at 1&1. GoDaddy has become increasingly difficult to work with.
I had the problem with the METAR scripts several weeks ago https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=37823.0 and that was a GoDaddy issue.

Every time I speak to them they try to sell me an SSL certificate. Not an inexpensive proposition with their prices.

I will have to contact several web hosts over the next several days and see whom will best fit my needs.

Here's a quick question for the forum: What do you folks pay / month for your hosting?

Regards
