Did you read the following? http://weewx.com/docs.html  I prefer using the setup.py method of installation.

Sounds good.  If you are still having issues, post the commands that you are  using to install.

Take a look here: https://groups.google.com/forum/?oldui=1#!topic/weewx-user/7_61GHtGI8E .  Looks like the same issue you are having.

Well I have a Davis (using a logger and SDR) and "hate to say it" acurite (using usb and SDR) stations that are passing data to weewx . User Galfert might be able to help on this.

I recommended you get the Pi ...but I also mention for you to also get the Ecowitt GW1000 so that you could easily get data directly from your WS-2000. If you didn't yet get the GW1000 I highly recommend it.

Sure there are other ways to get the data without the GW1000....but I'm not going to be able to help you with those other options (because it's not what I do)....that frankly for $36 for the GW1000 the other options are not worth the extra work and possible compromise to some of the solutions (and there are several other solutions).

I believe that you were previously getting data into WD via Ambientweather.net API. Well you can do the same with WeeWX. But if you still run WD at the same time then you may max out your Ambientweather.net API usage limit. So I don't think you want to do this. Again this is one of those other methods and there are yet several others methods. But seriously ....just get the GW1000. Why?...Because you'll then have a much easier time and you'll have live data every 16 seconds. And your WD will also be able to use the GW1000 at the same time.

I was going to try weewx instead of weather display because I didn’t like the fact it didn’t upload graphs and other data to my site.

Yes thanks! I’m sorry that I’ve had to bother you so much over recent days, but your help has been what I needed!  I plan on getting the GW1000 soon, I have enough money I just need it to be put in the bank to order it. Also I really like the pi and am happy that you recommended it and I was able to get it. I believe once I get this all straightened out my enthusiasm for weather will continue to grow. I just want to thank you so much for all your help!

Yes but typically people run WD off Windows. Yes there is a Linux version but I'm not familar with it. I would imagine that someone would know how to support any of the various templates on WD running on Linux. But the place to ask is https://www.weather-watch.com

consolewd, which runs on raspberrypi, ie the WD for raspberry pi
can be set to create the customclientraw.txt file to power e.g steel gauges
and also be set to create the clientraw files to power e.g FreshWDL, which does have graphs (as does the free WD app, WDiveapp)
or consolewd can be set to update to meteotemplate, which has lots of graphs, or wunderground, which has graphs

there is also provided with consolewd, WDPI program, which is a GUI program that runs on your PI which looks a bit like the windows version of WD and has graphs built in and showing

So I’ve decided I’m going to get the GW1000.  How do I configure it to send the weather data to my pi? Also how do I set up weewx to where it will work with my GW1000?

I cant help you with a GW1000 and weewx
but consolewd works with it. you just enter the IP address of that device

All you have to do to get data from the GW1000 is give the supported weather software the IP address of the GW1000. There is no need to configure anything on the GW1000 for it to respond to data requests. Sometimes you don't even need to give the supported software the IP address of the GW1000 because it automatically finds the GW1000 on the network. That depends on the software though. But I'm not a big proponent of this auto discovery. I think it's better to specify the IP address. You should make the GW1000 have a DHCP reservation on your router though so that it always gets the same IP address.
