Also as they have provided a couple of methodologies, you can , do what you want, requires work on your end. For the most part, I'd have to assume most don't go to the lengths that some of us do. Most probably want a "weather station", and that is pretty much it. Then there are us nut jobs, oh, but wait, we can grab the data , mix and match sensors , and do all kinds of funky stuff, awesome.
For a static web site, and an app, that they provide, imagine the support horror of all the possible configurations. Like I said, a lot of us appreciate the fact we can roll our own at this cost point.
