This is nuts...almost May, shouldn't be a cloud within 300 miles of me, temp in the low 90's, single digit RH, yet it's the mid 50's, I've got thunderstorms around and 0.12" of rain so far. I'm certainly not complaining, we're desperate for rain, it's just nuts..

87° to 50° - and still no rain for us. Maybe tomorrow but most of it will stay north or south of us.

I know this spring has been unusually cool.  I didn't have to turn on the air conditioning until Sat. May 15th.  It was good to find out it still works.  At least the season hasn't been so messed up that a drought has set in.  A flood watch out now will help keep it that way.

Oklahoma City still hasn't made it above 83 this spring.

Here's a tweet from NWS Norman from yesterday:
"The wet pattern is forecast to continue into middle of next week, with rain chances each day and high temperatures will remain below average to average for this time of year. Remarkably, the long-range guidance suggests severe weather potential will remain low."

Another drop in temps. Backdoor cold front moved in off of Lake Michigan. The water temps are still in the 40s. We started with a cool dry spring and we finally started getting mid summer weather without the rain. We are about 6 inches behind a normal year so far. No real rain in the coming forecast yet and we are going back into the upper 80s today.

I had a low of 47 on June 1.  Today it was 95.

Saturday=High of 99.

But. thank god the wind will be from the Southwest. So a much dryer heat.

Kid 2 has her grad party tomorrow.   Slushies and cotton candy. Lots of tents.

We had a low of -20 this spring. So if we get to 100, that will be a spread of 120 degrees in 3 1/2 months.

That is so freaky.  The OKC TV weatherman was pointing that out.   In central Oklahoma,  it hasn't gotten above 90 yet.  Tornadoes have been very few this spring, fortunately.  About the only unforgettable severe weather was the freak hail and high wind thunderstorm in Norman.    It got to the 100s in the Dakotas for more weather freakiness.

Low here was 10 below, which was enough to kill off or reduce a lot of decorative perennials like Crepe Myrtles.  It looks like the Magnolia trees have survived.

I have a co-worker going to OK for a softball tourney this weekend. He made the comment. "I never thought I would go 400 miles to the south to get 20 degrees cooler"

The baking also continues in northern Illinois. 90s yesterday, today and tomorrow. But it's a "dry heat", humidity has been bouncing in the 20s and 30s.

Lack of rain is also a concern, average for the year is over 13", we are stuck at 5.71". Maybe some sprinkles next week.

Rainy season just getting underway here in north central Florida. It's crazy how the calendar turns to June and the rains just start. Looking forward to afternoon boomers and torrential rains for the next 4 and a half months.  :-)

Finally felt like summer time for the first day this season. The high temp finally got over 90 at 93.  It came with a heat advisory.  Rain hasn't been  abundant this spring but enough has fallen to stay out of a drought.

We went from guaranteed rain to 0% in about 30 minutes. It just vaporized. Heat Island. We need rain.

I have been telling people that if I am not complaining about the humidity-it is not so bad.

Dew Points lower next week and temps too.

Following the passage of a strong thunderstorm that arrived weakened, the air over Stillwater quite dramatically collapsed early Saturday morning, leading to strong, steady winds, bringing about a much warmer temperature along with much lower humidity down to 30% as images show below.

Temperature started out at 68 at 12:49 am and peaked at 87 at 3:09 am. The initial surge in temperature started around 1:44 am when wind switched from NW to ESE gusting to 31 mph.  It was an interesting weather phenomenon, called a heat burst, not very commonly seen.  Storm only brought around a third of an inch of rain.

It does not look like that TS will meander its way into the upper midwest. That stinks.
Very!!!! dry. We need a great soaking.

Longest day of the year. 14 hours and 1 minute in north central Florida.
It's all down hill from here. Days get shorter. Nights get longer. Before you know it the snow will be falling. Much cooler here this week. Only upper 80's. Brrr, gonna need a jacket.

Only 80s expected here through July 1 with a lot of rain to add up, due to presence of a cold front not expected to move much.   June has been dry, so it's needed.

The multi-day Oklahoma deluge is off to a good start. I've got 2.10" as of midnight, June 26 of the projected 6.2".  The town of Perkins, though, 10 mi.  to the south of me is running ahead with 3.21".  If rain from the southern TX panhandle holds together, more rain will come later this morning.

For an amazing update, Perkins is already up to 6.38" as of 4:40 am for probably the most rain in the state for the last two days.  The rain is a training.

Photo shows storm coming in to Stillwater from the kinda unusual direction of the southeast as of 6pm Monday.  Fortunately, it isn't severe.  Further below, it's shown on radar.  TV weatherman thinks two more waves of rain to come in tonight.  Still more for Tuesday.  Up to 3 in. of rain expected when it wraps up later this week.
