Hi!

Also in 2021 Ecowitt will again announce a number of new sensors and bring them onto the market ...

Unfortunately, there is still no fixed date for the WN34, which has been announced for some time. But we still have some time until spring (soil temperature) or even summer (pool thermometer!).

The HP10 camera will be available soon. I don't know a price for it yet. Anybody? But I am curious. Perhaps there is also a connection box available, to which the power cable can be connected and from which the WS80 and HP10 can be sourced. (Just a guess/hint!)

I found evidence of a new leaf wetness sensor in a beta firmware for the GW1000. This will (probably) be called WN35 and 8 sensors can be operated on the GW1000.
Lucy has confirmed the name and announced that the specs for this sensor are not yet ready. So we are still a bit away from availability.
I'm already looking forward to it - I can probably use this sensor as an instant rain detector. (and check if my irrigation works everywhere)

Has anyone else heard something they can share?
;-)

So will there be a pool Thermo? Or is this just speculation? I'm not thrilled with the probe sensor, would like a floating option.

I know the supposed price of the internal version webcam, which will be 48USD without shipping costs.
For the external version I don't know the price!
But I don't know the answer to your question about powering through WS80.

Yesterday I posted some info on the ecowitt webcam discussion in which I put photos of the external version webcam that was given to me in testing.

I also knew about the leaf wetness sensor, I know it will have a 0-100 scale but nothing else at the moment.  This sensor could be used as a rain sensor!

I also know that maybe a low cost weather station will be built, It will use bluetooth to do the wifi configuration.

I don't know anything else

3. GATEWAY WH2650 (3rd station)(1 WH32-EP METAL, 1 WH40)
6. LIGHTING SENSOR;
7. OTHERS WH31 NORMAL and 1 WH31-EP
8. RAIN SENSOR;
9. WEBCAM HP10 (beta test)
10. LOW COST STATION (WN1900).

I've got additional information regarding the WN34. It will be some time still for this to come out. The delay has to do with their conformal coating and waterproofing solution for this sensor...and it needs to be accurate. So you just can't spray it and call it a day.

There will be two different WN34. One for temperature measurement in soil and the other in liquid.
You may search in the forum for WH34 and WN34. The name for this sensor was changed for unknown reason.

Internal webcam? Whats the point of that??

Nothing changes at the webcam level between the indoor and outdoor models.  The only difference is that with the outdoor version the solar panel and the battery pack are supplied to work autonomously while the indoor version works via a cable with USB output to be connected to a 220v / 5v power supply (a normal mobile phone charger for example).

The operation is also the same, namely that it takes pictures from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset.

I don't think there are differences in waterproofing between the two webcams.

They are already both in our matrix - info provided by Ecowitt
https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=40730.0

also - not really for unknown reasons.
It has to do with the Ecowitt naming policy - see the comments to our matrix where you will find the WN34 example - acronyms section.

What is listed in the Fine Offset matrix as a WN34L sure looks like what Ambient Weather is currently selling as a WH31P.

What ecowitt should sell as a soil and pool temperature sensor differs from that of ambient Weather, by not using the standard wh31 box but using a smaller and less bulky one.
P.s.  the photos are from August, so there may have been changes

My understanding is that the WN34 models are close to production and final test. There has been some issues with the weather sealing and longevity but that this should have been resolved now.
Hopefully we should start to see them breaking cover properly now within a few months.

New news on pool soil temperature sensors: For soil / water temperature sensors - May be available before the end of February.

- For the pool system regulation temperature - It will be available for testing when the water temperature sensor is ok.

- Also news on the low cost weather station that will connect via bluetooth?  -It is being optimized now.  And the receiver photo was shown next to the camera on the app's device setup page.

Another news:
“ Thanks for your contacting.
We have confirmed with our engineer that the WN30 will have its own 8 channels and not occupy the WN34's.
The function of the two sensors seem to be very similar.
While the WN30 is availble to be purchase now and the WN34 is still under testing. So we decide to sell the WN30 first.”

In a nutshell, ecowitt will first sell the wn30 sensor and then the wn34 so as to start selling it right now. The WN30 to avoid confusion will be this:

Hi!

Looks like Froggits DP30. But the DP30 unfortunately shares the channels with the WH31.

Oliver
Exactly - the number of WH31 (including WH31-EP) and WN30 sensors is limited to eight per console. You can of course have more, but then have to spread them over two or more consoles.

See footnote 9 of our matrix: https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=40730.msg417956#msg417956

That's where suddenly Froggits portfolio offer of a DP1500 (GW1000) with one or more WH31 sensors starts making sense - to cater for an overflow of more than eight WH31/WN30 sensors. (But I'm not really sure they made this for that reason  8-) ;) )

I think that calling this sensor WN30 is going to cause a lot of confusion.
Would have been better to just call it WH31-EP2 or something.
People are so not going to realise that its part of the 8 devices that the console/GW1000 supports for Temp/Humidity.
Also the fact that the sensor body is not waterproof while the cable is, will also cause issues.

Hi!

Finally the WN35 is listed on Ecowitt's website:

https://www.ecowitt.com/shop/goodsDetail/122

Not as cheap as expected ...

The temperature sensors for liquid (WN34L) and soil (WN34S) have been available since yesterday on the pages:

https://www.ecowitt.com/shop/goodsDetail/116
https://www.ecowitt.com/shop/goodsDetail/118

Now the only thing missing is the HP10 camera ...
Then maybe we can express new wishes.
What about a multi-channel CO2-sensor?
;-)

I’d really like to see the multi channel Co2 sensor I asked for this a little while back and they said they would have to gauge interest!!!

I’d like to see a VOC sensor also.

Apparently the HP10 is completely independent from the weather stations which means an extra SIM card will need to be purchased to use LTE to pass data.  Will it even be LTE capable? powered by solar? is there someplace Ecowitt posts this information?  it's hard to get information on the HP10. However Ecowitt did tell me it should be available for sale  later this month. Thank you - Ferrene
