WS-5000 & Weather Underground?
« on: September 23, 2021, 05:52:09 PM »
I’m new to weather stations and this forum.  I recently installed an Ambient WS-5000 and it seems to be working fine.  I’ve connected it to the Ambient site without any difficulty.

I’ve registered a new device on Wunderground, identified it as a WS-2000 as recommended by Ambient, and added the station ID and key to the console.

The station shows up under my devices but is always in an offline state.  Just wondering if there is some step or hack that I missed setting this up.  Any advice is most appreciated.

It might be helpful to use the WSView app or awnet app to do the WU configuration at the WS-2000/WS-5000 console end. (tap on your console's device list entry).
And best is to copy and paste the key - many issues occur due to misspelling (O for 0, l or I, trailing spaces etc.) Also, depending on the font used in your browser you will not be able to optically distinguish 0,O, l, I.
So going to the WU website with the smart phone, copy the key next to the station ID into the clipboard and then past it in WSView/awnet will keep you on the safe side.
