My weather station is a 15' x 15' room with two 60" office type desks and a computer corner 32" x 32". I use paper work sheets, data records to do a 7am wx report to NWS and CoCoRaHS. Most of my wx hobby is tinkering with equipment. The room has shelving for oscilloscopes, meters, parts bins, and 6 wx station displays. One desk is my workbench. The other desk catches overflow. I have a laptop and a small pro XP (VWS/WLIP/Wxcoder/CoCoRaHS), and a HP 8500 printer. Along another wall are 4 oak tool cabinets.
My sun porch is my dirty work area. I have a drill press on a cabinet stand. One stainless steel top workbench is for stained glass with drawers for glass and tools. An executive desk is for big equipment maintenance, plastic moldmaking and casting. That desk is also for engraving. This area is also for house projects such as chain saw and lawn mower repair.
A great room upstairs has old items that I don't need often.
I have two granite tables and benches outside near the weather sensors. I use that area to modify wx sensors, to grill and eat on special occasions with friends.
I would give up all these toys if a special lady would move in and tell me that I can't have all this clutter.
