I have just taken a look at the wunderground dashboard and it has been logged there. In fact, there's data missing for the temp as well.

https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IWAREH2

That suggests a faulty temp/humidity sensor. But why wouldn't it have been logged on the consoles?

Hi, does the console refer to the HP2551 console?

Can you also add the HP2551 on the ecowitt.net and upload to weather underground?

It may be useful for those users who are thinking about buying the HP3501 station:

Found the review video very useful, thank you. Question...what brand/model radiation shield did you use?

I did see a response on Amazon that Ecowitt will be coming out with their own but no timeline indicated. The response was dated Sept 20, 2019.

Considering doing this to create a battery extension for the anemometer.

https://www.wikihow.com/Make-Battery-Eliminators

That would allow me to run a set of wires down the pole to a battery holder at ground level. Could do a AC converter but that would be more expensive.

BTW...thank you to everyone that has contributed to this thread! Reams of useful information and very constructive dialogs.

I am looking to buy my first station setup in a few weeks as we move into a our new location in Montana. Been going through the usual fretting of what model to buy (Atlas, WS-2000, Davis sticker shock, etc.). Being a bit obsessive, one of my desires is to try and meet the sensor placement standards. Also wanted to be able to integrate into CWOP at some point. Budget constraints were limiting the choices, however. The Atlas was tempting but did not like its proprietary info feed. Was going to buy the WS-2000 until I read this thread. This Ecowitt seems to fit the bill perfectly. Affordable, separate sensors, extendable, integration into CWOP possible with Meteobridge. The vendor responsiveness has been very impressive given what I see on this thread and on the Amazon Q&A for their products. Now I just have to cut the check... :)

Max gust on my console doesn't correlate to the max gust on the dashboard. First time i've seen that happen.

Console says 33.1mph, dashboard says 29.8mph. The times are the same.

PS: I've added the console to ecowitt.net: https://www.ecowitt.net/home/index?id=4760
And also Wunderground: https://www.wunderground.com/dashboard/pws/IWAREH2

For your question of "Max gust on my console doesn't correlate to the max gust on the dashboard.", it's normal. Because the sampling time for the console and the dashboard is different. The console updates every 16.5s as the WS68 reporting time, while the dashboard updates every minute.
Hope you can understand that.

Normally, I would agree. However, since you made a change to the dashboard whereby it loads data from the midnight rollover, all the mins/maxes have matched each other.

To further add to this, both consoles recorded a max gust of 36.5mph this morning but only one dashboard matches.

This one:

https://www.ecowitt.net/home/index?id=1103

This one below shows 30.9mph:

https://www.ecowitt.net/home/index?id=4760

Another problem;  Look at the temperature spike on the graph: https://www.ecowitt.net/home/index?id=1103

20.2°C but yet the dashboard has logged 25.5°C as the high? Again, neither console shows any of those values.
The humidity drops out as well.

And the dashboard here: https://www.ecowitt.net/home/index?id=4760

There's no sign of any temperature spike.

None of this makes any sense and it's utterly confusing.

Edit: If you look at most of the data from both dashboards, the majority of the data is not the same. How can it be so different when it's all coming from the same sensors?

It's almost like there's two weather stations running - which there isn't.

Unfortunately, the links given to the Ecowitt.net station do not work. Clicking such a link opens the last viewed station.
Does your GW1000 have a frequency of 433 MHz?
Are there any devices nearby at this frequency?
At what frequency does your Davis work?
Your GW1000 loses connection with sensors.
Sorry for my English.

I guess you'll have to access them via the map: https://www.ecowitt.net/map/index

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Ecowitt is on 433Mhz
Davis is on 868Mhz

I don't see why it's losing connection with the temp/humidity? My GW-1000 is the closest item I have at picking up the signal. It's located 25 feet away from all of the sensors, in line of sight and with no walls or objects in the way.

I found your station by typing Dorset on the map.
My GW1000 also lost connection to the sensor today for four hours.
I don't know what could be the reason.
My sensor is 213 feet away.

When I first got my Ecowitt system, there were not many in the US or even Ohio.  This map has surely grown.

Two of my GW-1000s have been losing connections to the array, also.

Interestingly, when it lost the temp from the array it substituted the temp reading from WH-31B number 1 and sent the data to WU.

Hi Mapantz,

Our engineer just found that your issue might be caused by the GW1000.
It receives the wrong data from the sensor.
To fix that, we suggest you to open the back of the gateway and pull the antenna out to enhance the sensitivity of reception like this:
[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]
Then you can install the cover loosely and observe whether the issue will be solved.
In addition, we'll update a new firmware of the gateway to check the validity of the data.
We'll let you know when it's available.

Best Regards,
Lucy

Of all of the things that I have seen with this station, this one tops them all.. The new console loses contact with the anemometer while I am sat down in the room with it. If I go out by the door and watch it, the signal comes back. Sat down again, and one by one, each bar disappears until the wind speed/direction stops updating.

I give up with all of it! I have never known ANY weather station to encounter the problems I have had. It's a joke!

Maybe you shouldn't mount it against the wall. What is that wall made of? Try changing the consoles location. I'm not having these issues but I have mine on a counter not wall mounted. Granted I know it was designed to be wall mounted. But perhaps you are at a fringe reception distance and wall mounting just makes it that much worse.

1: Wind/UV/Solar data has been fine up until today.
2: Reception fringe of Less than 50'?
3: The other sensors are fine, bar the soil moisture sensor periodically.
4: Leaving the room and the signal gradually comes back?

Sorry, but the excuses are just getting thinner and thinner now.

Not sure why you are having the issues you do.  Maybe something is interfering with it or maybe a bad unit.  I have zero issues and I now have setup 17 of these, without issue.

Mapantz has already had some replacement kit, so it must be some form of interference from another radio source or possibly the construction of the house if there is a lot of steel involved which can disrupt reception.
I think in Mapantz case without doing a radio reception survey in his house we will never understand why he is seeing so many issues with his kit.
In my tests at home I have definitely observed that some sensors are more easy to knock out than others and mobile phones and Bluetooth are a problem if within 2 feet of the console but I don't think these are the issue at hand here. Polarisation of the signal also is a factor and small alignment of the console can effect its reception.

Tina is not his or he perhaps she is just fed up with the obvious responses , saying i dont have the issue doesnt resolve , polarized signals is not the issue , generally a poor signal comes down to assembly especially if the antenna or wire which ever it is  may be assembled incorrectly, tina if your competent in doing  take the console apart  look for the antenna and trace it you may well find a poorly  soldered connection, or if it is using a small connector it may be not inserted correctly . seen this poor wireless on many chinese hand assembled products not all parts are machine assembled .

leaving the room  may be all that bling is blocking the signal
