Hello all! Hoping you can help me out with a very frustrating issue.
I am streaming 3 NOAA weather stations using 3 separate 3B+ Pi's - 2 of them have been no issue on freqs 162.475 and 162.425mhz. The third has been an absolute nightmare. 162.525mhz just a bunch of static - I can sometimes hear the station faintly
I am using Tim's scrips and all 3 pi's are identical except the freq they are tuned to. If I use my scanner plugged into the same antenna lead I can hear 162.525 perfectly, and if I take the SDR receiver and plug into my laptop using AirSpy it is also crystal clear if I bump the gain up to 30+ no freq shift.
So here is what I have done to try and troubleshoot the issue.
clone working pi then just change the freq - no difference
Used different Nooelec NESDR Mini 2+ SDR's - no difference
Used different PI's - No difference.
Rebuilt the PI image from scratch - no difference.
Used a usb extension cable between the pi and the SDR - no difference
moved the pi and SDR to a different location - no difference
hard set the gain in rtl_fm - no change
tried an older version of raspian - no difference
Here is my command in /home/pi/weather_radio_scripts/weather-radio.sh
rtl_fm -f 162.525M -s 48000 | play -q -r 48000 -t raw -e s -b 16 -c 1 -V1 -v 4 - sinc 125-3.2k
I'm kind out of ideas at this point.. lol for now I am streaming that station from my scanner and a PC, but would like to get this working like the rest.
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks!
Tom
