Vantage Pro 2 Console Reset
« on: October 21, 2020, 07:43:21 PM »
If I pull the power and batteries out a VP2 display console and then power it back up will I need to enter in the elevation, date time and calibrations? Or does it remember its settings in non-volatile memory?

I've got a station that has stopped transmitting data to the Internet. What is the best troubleshooting steps? It is using a WeatherlinkIP.

I don't use IP, but the memory is non-volatile. Davis wouldn't pull that nonsense.

You will need to update date/time. Other settings are stored.

Will it automatically prompt for date and time? Or do you need to go in and set it?

I understand that it will be in set up mode until I press Done. But what I'm wondering is if it will actively prompt for date/time or does it show some other setup welcome? I'm walking someone else through this process is why I need details. I'm not certain of their technical skills so I need good instructions, if not I'll need to go on site myself.

You need to go into the relevant step in set-up and set it.

Depending on how old the console is and F/W revision... Newer F/W will time out of set-up after eg 10 or 15 minutes (on mains power) - I forget the period exactly. But easy enough to re-enter setup if required.
