New roof, temporary move to a new location in yard
« on: August 05, 2022, 01:54:35 PM »
My current weather station is on a tripod mount on the roof of my house.  I am having a new roof put on and will have to temporarily move it to a new location in my yard for a couple of days.  I have Weatherlink Live and a serial wireless connection to my station and store data both locally on my computer and in WLL.  I am not concerned with data corruption during the move of the serial connection because I can edit it out.  As far as I know, there is no way to edit data in WLL, at least that I am aware of.

I believe I can turn off the data stream in WLL temporarily in settings and then turn it back on once I have the station set up in my backyard, and again when I replace it on the roof.  I also believe I can disconnect the wind and rain collector from the ISS before I move it and plug it in again once moved.

Can anyone comment on this?  Am I correct or is there another way to do this?

Move it, leave it, dont worry about it.

move it back.

A few days or a week without it in its place is not the end of the world.

On your roof?  Leave it on the ground

Leave the main sensor off the roof. You will be way off up there. Only the anemometer on the roof.
