nws-alerts-log .. can full alert be logged?
« on: April 22, 2024, 05:59:06 PM »
How do we log the entire text of warnings and advisories without truncating them…

https://ballcock.us/nws-alerts-log.php?logfile=20240417  Like this for example. I would like to retain the entire text of the warnings and watches.

To change the logging contents does require modifying code in both nws-alerts.php and nws-alerts-log.php to support having the details included, and it wouldn't likely be backward compatible to existing log files.
I've not heard about such a request before, and as Curly's code is quite complicated, I'd need to hear from others about the mod before embarking on doing the mod.

Ok

One more question.  How do I get the nws-alerts-log.php to to open with the menu and header/footer.  Right now I have it in the flyout menu and it opens in a different window.  (not a different tab).  I want it to open within the menu and other elements like every other page.

you should have (in the Base-USA distribution) wxnws-alerts-log.php to do just that.
Just change flyout-menu.xml to link to wxnws-alerts-log.php instead of nws-alerts-log.php
