firmware 1.4.8 for the WS90 is about to be released
changelog:
Supports the new T&H module hardware with dual T&H compensation

that may sound a bit enigmatic

what's behind that is a newly developed T/RH sensor for the WS90 which will cater for the T/RH deviations caused by the WS90 inbuilt heater

it will be a pluggable sensor module and available soon as accessory at shop.ecowitt.com

This is great news! My WS90 is plugged in so I don't need to climb up onto my roof to swap the batteries and I've been noticing the temp fluctuate because of the heater.

Hopefully this releases soon!

We are currently testing a solution to make the radiation shield more efficient, but it’s not yet ready to be released on the market. I started testing this new TH today.

Interesting. Looks like a dual temp sensor. Presumably the one closest to the heater will be warmer than the one that isn't and then some sort of Correction or correlation factor is applied. That's just my guess

I personally solved the problem by using a mathematical equation when it's -40oC my temperature could be up to 4° off and just did a linear correction beginning from +5 to -40° C.

Now my temps are always within 1oC of my WH69

I'm testing it, but there is an underestimation of the minimum temperatures.

It is better to bet on a separate sensor like WH32EP and insulate yourself from the poor shielding in the WS90 Wittboy by equipping yourself with a better shield. All the more as we have a problem when the heater is running.

With the new module this is no longer a necessity for the temperature impact of the heating.

However, if you want to read your outdoor T/RH in a place different from the WS90 mounting place, that advice is valid.
