Holman Aspect Wifi Analyst WS5070W manufacturer
« on: December 03, 2024, 10:57:51 PM »
I have looked through fine offset and other manufacturers, but have been unable to see whom the actual maker of this item is......I am in Australia

https://www.holmanindustries.com.au/wp-content/themes/holmanindustries/Manuals/WS5070W-MANUAL-WEB.pdf

Mine is displaying a temperature higher than those around me, and I have tried to follow the tutorial (image attached) to change the reading by 3 degrees by entering either a 3 or -3 in the advanced menu. Unfortunately, the unit never seems to hold the data, and when I look again in accessing the browser via the AP menu, the data I entered is always blank again. I then repeat it all, but go around in circles.

Further, after being unable to seemingly get an offset to work, my head tells me anyway, that the fault is more likely within the actual temperature sensor in the outside unit.
That being the case, I see little that I can do there, other than trying to clean it, as per the instructions here, from the manual?

Has anyone been able to overcome an issue like this, or even know if there is like another cover or whatever to place somehow over the external sensor, to allow it to give a more accurate reading?

Anyone have a maker info etc please?

Cheers

Hi again...

From no replies, I assume there is no knowledge of whom makes this unit ?

I have seen the wiki re Fine Offset variants, but wonder if anyone can link me to other manufacturers other than Fine Offset, so I can perhaps look at their units for comparison?

In Australia, we also get other brands badged as Devanti, Vevor, Holman etc, and I wonder whom makes them?

Thank you

EDIT....I forgot to add.....I was able to get instructions to go into the web interface of my unit, (which was reporting wrong temperatures) then into Advanced menu , and then change my temperature offset to -3°, and now my unit displays correct data.

Thank you.

I have seen that site, however, I have read elsewhere that Besser and the other often referred to place, called (I think) Froggit, are brand names only, and not the actual manufacturer.

Even searching for WS5070W only gives me same results unfortunately.

Thanks

As you say Fine Offset sell their products to many many different brands, so maybe some other chinese manufacturer does the same but doesn't sell products under their own name? That then renders them more anonymous. If you look at Ecowitt you have to do some digging to find the manufacturer is Fine Offset.

Once you know what you're looking for it becomes easier to find clones, I quite enjoy a good ole furtle round the Internet looking at stuff like that
And it's not just weather station manufacturer's that badge engineer stuff

Good luck in your quest for more info  [tup]

I saw a reference to another maker called ccl.

I googled them, and found the same one as my Holman WS5070W

Here is a link
https://cclel.com/product/c6070a-c3113a/

Are they manufacturers or resellers?

Cheers

EDIT
In fact, all these look similar
C6117A / C3120A
C6083A / C3136A
C6070A / C3136A
https://cclel.com/our-collection/wifi-weather-station/

EDIT....I searched this forum with the new model number....bingo...https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=40339.new#new

Good going masterone!   [tup]

I think they're manufacturers.

Considering they seem to sell under many brand names I'm surprised there isn't a section on the forum dedicated to them.

For anyone else interested...
This model also works with Brian Hamilton's app called Weather Display which is at www.Weather-Display.com

To get this type to work, he tutored me to use these parameters
With app running

Go to Control Panel  setting
Station Type & Settings
Click on Stationless
Tick in  D2 box
Tick in Wunderground Format (json)
Tick Wunderground API box
Insert your WU station site....note...not full http address, just your end station number eg MYONE41
Insert your API Key from WU...eg 67981b907ee5g457945b301eert11e4 (whatever your number/key is
Click the Update/Save box in that bottom box
Go to the top and click the box Close/save
Reopen app, and your data should match what is running in your WU personal station app as well
You wil note in the Weather Display app, that at the bottom, under the date, your data received count should be rising

Again, please note, Brian(the author) helped guide me, with this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeX5mCrHk-U
