Yesterday at my place. Photocopy days, gray, with very few emotions and subtle deviations. Instead of putting complete reports I put this summary.

Soon, hopefully during the week, a second SMArtCELLino will be added to the one already present  ;)

To clarify and to respond, albeit remotely, to statements in other posts, this installation is of very poor quality

The SRS are excessively close together, the height from the ground and the exposure are correct, but their extreme proximity triggers high uncertainties that vary based on the direction of natural ventilation

The SRS that finds itself working upwind of the others will always have an advantage, and gradually those "behind" it will find themselves in a worse situation

This is an installation that can provide acceptable comparison data only in the long term in order to cover the majority of different possible situations, the daily data, or worse, the instantaneous ones are seriously affected by this.

Let's all take this into account in our evaluations, even though there are certainly installations that are decidedly better than mine ;)

Data yesterday. Complex despite the grayness. At night irradiation and wind blows active in some places. Interesting day reaction after 13 to the wind reinforcement where in Rad14 and Siap with DS something happened. What I do not know.

Yesterday's report with two excellent analysis points in terms of time constants

I must admit that it would be nice if other users who have the Siap screen would also contribute, not to daily updates but at least to post an opinion, a graph etc. every now and then and they are not only the usual 2/3

A new Siap is added to the existing one, same height and exposure although, as already said, it is a poor quality station due to the excessive proximity of the various systems

In the new Siap a wn-34D, which we have been testing for several days and with extremely interesting results

Graphs and reports will follow

Decided to make this little table for the 2 times I've registered a "significant" error on the SC (0.3C or more vs the Davis). This isn't particularly useful as there's a number of variables at play here that are not quantified, but there you go. Considering these 2 events were in the morning, with a quickly rising temperature, the actual errors are likely slightly higher than the values suggest, as the Davis warms faster due to its shorter time constant and therefore you'd actually expect to see the Davis a little warmer, not cooler like what happened here. A comparison between the SC and the Barani would not have that variable as I estimate the time constants of both shields to be very similar.

Update: I've marked the row of 11:00 on 13/01 in yellow as I feel like it's slightly misleading, the max error of 0.8C likely did not occur when the wind was at 5 km/h but probably just before the wind increased. Keep in mind that the reported wind speed values are 10 min averages, I assume the 0.8C error occurred just after 10:50 (when the wind was still weak, like it was in the 10:40-10:50 interval) and the jump in wind speed occurred after that 0.8C error.

Update 2: the wind speeds are recorded at 5 m, these are even weaker at shield height (~70% of the speed at 5 m).

Here it would be optimal to see a comparison of Apogee TS-100 vs Davis FARS24H vs Smart Cellino. Davis can also tend to overheat in the absence of wind. I've seen it in person.

Yesterday's comparison of Davis Fars24h vs Smart Cellino at my friend's. You can see that with the low solar angle, we have not eliminated the problem of overheating of passive shields.
