My banner has gone astray from the forum. I have made no changes to it in years. Suspect it might have something to do with its location at http and the forum at https but not sure.
Any way to get it back?
Thanks.

I'm seeing it right now.

I was, too, when I first came to the forum to reply to you. As soon as I logged in it went away. The condition is now slightly different than described. What I see is attached.
Thanks.

Odd, I still see the entire banner as it should be. Hmmmm

I've had No probs seeing your banner, may just 'a time to fetch' thing. (when you don't see it, try <right click> view image)

Interesting. I've been able to see it just by dumping the URL into a browser and also now by your view image suggestion, the latter of which just brought it up here on the forum. Now to try and figure out what the slowdown is.
Thanks.

My signature also went goofy a few days ago. No idea why. I didn't make any changes.
I figured it was something on the Facebook side.

Now looks like the latest Firefox update(s) are the culprit. There are al least two specific images failing every time that I know of. FF on my iMac fails every time but Safari there works properly. FF on my PC also works fine.
YMMV.
Thanks for the replies.

Using FF 66.x and I see your banner every time.

Foe me the failures started with the 67 series. FWIW.

Was using FF 67.0.1, literally just updated to 67.0.2 - No Problems with banner(s) ..

Both of those fail for me. Weird that only (so far) those two graphics are being picked on.

When you access WXForum.net (or any site) with HTTPS, the images/scripts that are referenced using HTTP may not be shown, and it's a browser thing. Various browsers handle it differently. Some will display the images and most will not load any http scripts from offsite. It's all part of the rules regarding mixed secure/insecure content displays.
If you have https available on your site, just change your link in your profile to use https and the image will likely show again.

Hi Ken,
Literally just a few minutes ago I found the problem. Privacy Badger extension. It's been running for a very long time with no problems but is unhappy with the 67-series of FF updates, which brought on the failures. Blocking it from previously good sites has now fixed things in the image dept.
My long time host (WestHost) is apparently too cheap to allow free https and I'm too stubborn to pay them for it.
Thank you for your reply.

Look at https://letsencrypt.org. As long as your host allows you access to your DNS Text entries (for Certificate Creation) and allows you to upload your own Certificates and Keys, you should be golden (without paying any gold) :).
The only mild catches are that you have to renew the Certificate(s) every three months (takes me about 10 minutes per certificate) and (AFAIK) the app which does the hard work only runs on a Unix or Unix-like OS. I don't know whether the Unix subsystem on Windows works. I run it on a Raspberry Pi.
